The peaceful atmosphere known with Nigeria’s leading internet provider, Smile-NG has been threatened with news of a sex scandal rocking the company.
In the middle of the alleged sex tale is the company’s General Manager Sales and Distribution, Kenneth Esenwah who was said to be sleeping with his junior colleagues with promises of promotions and other favors.
Kenneth is claimed to be the company’s de-facto head in Nigeria based on his experience,his expertise and cordial relationship with the CEO, Irene Charnley.
A source within the establishment revealed that Ken’s word is the law and he hires and fires as he pleases without approval from the Managing Director or the Head Office in South Africa.
The recent promotion of a staff, alleged to be Ken’s girlfriend had spurred a series of complaints by staffers who are scared to confront the General Manager for fear of the unknown.
The lady in question, Temitope Aguire is said to be a junior staff at the Apapa, Lagos branch of Smile Communications.
She was said to have recently been appointed regional head of the company’s Benin region, a move that did not go down well with many of the staffers who felt she was not qualified for the job but only benefited from her alleged amorous affair with Ken.
Aside Ken’s leadership style, the company is also said to be enmeshed in a superiority battle between the Chief Marketing Officer, Alero Ladipo and the Head of Human Resources. Details on this will be published soon.
