The Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) is set to unveil its 2026 nominees on Sunday, March 29, with Nollywood actor Chimezie Imo hosting the highly anticipated announcement.
Organisers confirmed that the live broadcast will air at 7:00 p.m. WAT across Africa Magic channels, inviting viewers across the continent to tune in.
The 12th edition of the prestigious awards will feature a total of 32 categories, including 18 jury-decided awards and 11 audience-voted categories, alongside special honours such as Lifetime Achievement and Trailblazer awards.
In a move that underscores its Pan-African vision, the AMVCA has introduced new categories—Best Indigenous Language (North Africa) and Best Indigenous Language (Central Africa)—aimed at promoting cultural diversity and preserving indigenous storytelling across the continent.
The main awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in Lagos in May 2026, where Africa’s brightest stars in film and television will gather to celebrate excellence in the industry.
