The race for the 2027 presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially begun, with the party commencing the sale of expression of interest and nomination forms in Abuja.
The exercise, held on Tuesday at the Continental Hotel and the Ladi Kwali International Conference Centre, signals the formal launch of the APC’s internal electoral process ahead of its primaries scheduled for May 23.
In a major development, Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, Rt. Hon. James Faleke, collected the nomination forms on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, underscoring early mobilisation efforts for the president’s re-election bid.
Faleke, a longtime ally of the president, was joined by senior party officials during the process. The forms were handed over by members of the APC National Working Committee, led by Deputy National Chairman (North), Hon. Abubakar Dalori, and the National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu.
Also present at the event were Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Duro Meseko; National Vice Chairman (North Central), Hon. Bawa Rijau; and National Women Leader, Dr. Mary Aliele.
The commencement of the exercise marks the APC’s full transition into pre-election activities after a brief postponement from its initial timetable.
Further details are expected as the process unfolds.
