The founder of Omega Power Ministries, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, has suspended plans for the marriage of his 21-year-old adopted autistic daughter, Chiemeka Chibuzor, following an overwhelming response from prospective suitors.
The cleric made the announcement via a Facebook post, revealing that the proposed wedding would no longer proceed until further notice.
“Chiemeka Chibuzor’s wedding is hereby suspended,” he wrote, adding that the decision came after receiving more than 1,000 applications.
The development comes just days after Chinyere publicly invited interested suitors, offering a range of financial incentives and welfare assurances to anyone willing to marry his daughter.
Among the conditions outlined, applicants were required to be young and physically and mentally fit. In return, the cleric pledged lifetime financial support, free housing, and a property to be jointly owned by the couple. He also stated that ministry staff would conduct periodic, unannounced visits to monitor Chiemeka’s well-being.
The unusual proposal quickly gained traction online, drawing both interest and debate.
This is not the first time the cleric has facilitated such an arrangement. In March, he organised the marriage of a non-verbal autistic man known as Aboy to an older woman, in a ceremony held on March 29.
While no further details have been provided on why the latest wedding plans were halted, the announcement has added a new twist to a story that has continued to spark widespread public reaction.
