Bala Mohammed has called on residents of Bauchi State to use the Eid-el-Kabir celebration period to pray for lasting peace, improved security, and economic prosperity in the state and across Nigeria.

The governor made the appeal in a Sallah message issued on Wednesday through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, as he congratulated Muslims in Bauchi State, Nigeria, and around the world on the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

Also known as Eid al-Adha, Eid-el-Kabir is one of the most significant festivals in Islam, symbolising sacrifice, obedience, faith, and devotion to Almighty Allah through the example of Prophet Ibrahim.

According to the statement, Governor Bala Mohammed urged Muslims to embrace the virtues of sacrifice, tolerance, love, obedience, and total submission to the will of Allah, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim.

He noted that the festive season offers an opportunity for reflection, prayers, and renewed commitment to peaceful coexistence, unity, and mutual understanding among Nigerians, regardless of ethnic, religious, or political affiliations.

The governor further appealed to residents to continue supporting government programmes and policies aimed at improving citizens’ welfare and promoting sustainable development across the state.

Mohammed also encouraged the people to seek divine intervention for enduring peace, enhanced security, and economic growth in Bauchi State and the country at large during the celebration period.

While congratulating Muslim faithful on witnessing this year’s Eid-el-Kabir, the governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to good governance, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, quality healthcare, education, and the protection of lives and property.

He also advised residents to celebrate responsibly by showing kindness, extending support to the less privileged, and promoting love and unity in line with the spirit of the season.

The governor assured citizens that his administration would continue to uphold democratic values, encourage healthy political participation, and sustain tolerance across party lines.

“On behalf of my family, the government, and the good people of Bauchi State, I wish the entire Muslim Ummah a peaceful, joyous, and fulfilling Eid-el-Kabir celebration. May Allah accept our sacrifices and bless our state and nation with peace, unity, and progress,” he stated.
