As you might already know, Enterprise Bank is about to be acquired by another bank. An inside source told Chikero Online that the new owners will be announced before the 20th of September 2014. Chikero Online also gathered that the bidders for the acquisition of 100 percent holdings of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) in Enterprise Bank have been screened down to three. The three surviving bidders are , Heritage Bank, Fidelity Bank and a foreign Bank.
Looking at this from political perspective, it is clear that politics will play a major role in the selection of the winner. You already know that Heritage Bank is owned by former Kwara State Governor, Bukola Saraki while Fidelity Bank is owned by former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi. From this it is obvious that it is now the battle of Ex Governors. Bukola Saraki is now an APC strong man, on the other hand Peter Obi who flies the flag of APGA has always pitched his tent with the powerful hat wearing man in Aso Rock. From all indications the powers that be will prefer a Peter Obi who is loyal to allowing an enemy to grab more financial territories.
What do you think? …. I guess time will tell!
