The Central Coordinate Movement (CCM), a youth-driven political group boasting over 10,000 members, has thrown its weight behind President Bola Tinubu’s bid for a second term and endorsed Senator Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) as the next governor of Ogun State.

The endorsement was announced at a high-profile gathering in Ogun Central, where the group’s Chairman, Alhaji Taiwo Elewide, popularly known as Champion Akile Egbaland, described the move as a calculated step rooted in confidence in the leadership of both politicians and a desire for continuity.

Elewide emphasized the group’s electoral strength, noting that its members are registered voters equipped with Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). He added that CCM has begun early mobilization efforts aimed at maximizing voter turnout in the 2027 general elections.

“Our over 10,000 members are fully committed to supporting Bola Tinubu for a second term and Senator Olamilekan Yayi for governor. Every member is an eligible voter, and we are determined to deliver victory for the APC at both presidential and state levels,” he said.

The event drew an array of political stakeholders, community figures, and influencers, reflecting growing momentum within Ogun’s political space. Notable attendees included Sunday Igboho, Bukola Olopade, Shuaibu Salisu, Afolabi Afuape, Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo, Balogun Afeez Olaniyi, and Bode Mustapha.

Observers say the gathering doubled as a demonstration of grassroots strength in Ogun Central, a critical senatorial district, with the presence of key figures across political and cultural circles lending additional significance.

Beyond politics, the event featured vibrant cultural performances from Fuji and indigenous music stars such as Sulaimon Atawewe, Alayo Singer, Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, and Shefiu Alao, adding a celebratory tone that resonated with attendees and reinforced the group’s grassroots appeal.

Analysts suggest that such early endorsements could influence party dynamics and voter alignment as the 2027 elections approach, particularly in politically strategic states like Ogun.

Although formal campaigns are yet to begin, CCM’s declaration points to intensifying political alignment and coalition-building, especially among youth groups positioning themselves to shape future electoral outcomes.

With the political atmosphere gradually gaining traction, endorsements from organized blocs like CCM may prove decisive in determining candidate viability and party strategy in the lead-up to Nigeria’s next general elections.
