***As APC Kicks Against His Defection

The 2015 general election has come and gone but it’s rubbles is yet to be cleared off.
While many have taken their grievances to the election tribunal, some were admitted in various hospitals nursing their wounds or probably taking care of their ‘dilapidated’ health after losing to their political opponent.

For Olawale Okunniyi, the spokesman of Pro-National Conference Organization (PRONACO) as well as the National Secretary of PROJECT NIGERIA (Nigeria Consensus Group) and the former aspirant of the Gubernatorial election in Ogun State, he is presently a single man after his romance tale to actress cum Politician, Bukky Wright went awry.

SocietyGists gathered from a reliable source that Okunniyi was the one who lured the ageless actress to join the Olusegun Osoba led Social Democratic Party prior to the 2015 general elections.

Information has it that the duo has been inseparable and having a secret affair before Bukky Wright decided to join the bandwagon of entertainers aspiring for political office.

However, during the party’s primary elections the actress lost to Joseph Sopade, a former aide of Governor Ibikunle Amosun, who resigned to join the Social Democratic Party, SDP.

Ms. Wright and Mr. Sopade vied for SDP ticket for the Abeokuta South Federal Constituency of Ogun State, which Sopade later lost to APC’s Hon. Samuel Olusegun Williams.

Inside sources revealed to SocietyGists that their relationship lasted when Bukky Wright dumped Okunniyi and opt for the party leader, the Akinrogun of Egbaland, Chief Olusegun Osoba.

We learnt that when the news of the romance started becoming a major topic in the political and social scene, Okunniyi’s wife confronted her husband for explanation but the Ijebu born politician had no tangible excuse to cover up for his extra-marital affair.

In the same vein, the screen goddess who has been on the defensive of her affair with Osoba has been throwing tantrums to the failed politician, describing him as a ‘Facebook Politician’ who only hold rally and other political activities on the social media.

Okunniyi was the Governorship Candidate of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change, CPC in Ogun State in the 2011 elections, he later rejoined the All Progressive Congress, APC from the Social Democratic Party, SDP few days to the election when the party bigwigs unanimously handed the gubernatorial ticket to former Managing Director of Promoserve, Senator Akin Odunsi.

Meanwhile, Ogun APC members have kick against his defection into the party stating that he’s not a stable politician who is only after political appointment to make ends meet.

When SocietyGists contacted Mr Okunniyi over the allegations, he told our reporter that, ‘someone will call you soon’. While the reporter waited for almost eight hours before publishing the story, another SMS was sent to his mobile phone which he quickly replied to; stating that he is out of town and wish to meet our reporter in Lagos on Sunday, May 3, 2015.

When our reporter decline the move for any meeting with him, he sent another message which he apparently doesn’t confirm or deny our claims but rather confusing.
According to him, “Sorry, we don’t respond to a story we are not aware of the details or sponsored or a journalist on phone. Thanks”.

It would be recalled that the Congress for Progressive Change in Ogun State once disowned him in the 2011 gubernatorial election, over the emergence of campaign posters in parts of the state, proclaiming him the party’s flagbearer in the 2015 poll.

This is coming on the heels of a statement credited to Okunniyi, in which he was said to have vowed that the CPC bloc within the All Progressives Congress would produce a candidate that would vie for the guberbatorial ticket of the newly formed party in the state with Governor Ibikunle Amosun for the 2015 poll.
