First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has called for a world guided by compassion and love, emphasizing that global challenges cannot be addressed by policies alone but must be met with humane values.
She delivered the message during a church service at Lambeth Palace, the official residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury, as part of her engagements during President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s two-day State Visit to the United Kingdom.
According to a statement from her Senior Special Assistant on Media, Busola Kukoyi, the First Lady was warmly received by the Secretary-General of the Anglican Communion Worldwide, Bishop Anthony Poggo.
In her reflection at the service, Senator Tinubu stressed that while governments globally continue to develop strategies to address complex issues, empathy, love, and shared humanity remain indispensable.
She also led prayers for the British royal family and global leaders, seeking divine guidance for those in positions of responsibility.
Following the service, the First Lady toured parts of the historic palace and met with officials from the Anglican Communion Office and the Anglican Alliance, which spans 42 churches worldwide. She also signed the visitors’ register during her visit.
The engagement was part of activities for Nigeria’s First Family aimed at strengthening diplomatic, cultural, and bilateral relations between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
