The Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, Ayo Ni O, has unveiled a week-long funeral programme for its late Spiritual Father and Chairman, His Most Eminence Prophet (Dr.) Emmanuel Abiodun Adewale Alogbo, who passed away on July 30, 2026, at the age of 93.
The burial rites will run from Monday, October 19, to Sunday, October 25, 2026, featuring lying-in-state ceremonies, services of songs, tributes, a wake, funeral service, interment and thanksgiving.
The announcement was made in a statement by the church’s Conference Secretary General, Senior Special Apostle Prophet (Dr.) Anthony Olusesan Samaye, under the direction of the Acting Spiritual Father, Most Senior Special Apostle Pastor (Dr.) Gabriel Olayinka Kassim.
The burial planning committee, chaired by Most Senior Special Apostle Adebisi Adedire, has finalised arrangements for a befitting send-off in recognition of Alogbo’s decades of service. Committee Secretary Senior Special Apostle Prophet Abiodun Ogunsakin said the programme would involve several Christian bodies, including the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the Organisation of African Instituted Churches (OAIC), the Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria, the C&S Movement Church Worldwide, Ayo Ni O, and New Seraphs.
Funeral Programme
• Monday, October 19: Family-only lying-in-state at the deceased’s residence (7am–10am). Public viewing at Blue Roof, Lagos Television (LTV 8), Ikeja, from 11am, followed by an interdenominational service of songs from noon to 3pm.
• Tuesday, October 20: Day of tributes and service of songs anchored by CAN, OAIC and New Seraph at Blue Roof. Lying-in-state from 10am; service and tributes from noon to 4pm.
• Wednesday, October 21: Programme anchored by the C&S Movement Church Worldwide, Ayo Ni O, at Blue Roof. Lying-in-state from 9am; service of songs from noon to 4pm.
• Thursday, October 22: Wake service anchored by the Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria at Seraphim Land, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Maba, Ogun State. Public lying-in-state from 9am to 10.30am; wake from 11am to 3pm.
• Friday, October 23: Final public lying-in-state at Blue Roof, LTV 8, Ikeja (8am–9.30am). Funeral service from 10am to 12.30pm, followed by interment between 1pm and 2pm at the C&S Movement Church, Kingsland District Headquarters, Oko-Oba, Agege, Lagos. A reception will follow at Blue Roof.
• Saturday, October 24: Private family gathering at a venue to be disclosed to invited guests.
• Sunday, October 25: Thanksgiving service at the C&S Movement Church, Kingsland District Headquarters, Oko-Oba, Agege.
Prophet Alogbo was installed as the sixth Spiritual Father of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church on May 1, 2024, and later ordained as the fifth Supreme Head (Olori) of the Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria on September 20, 2025. He remained Spiritual Father and Chairman until his death.
The church described him as a visionary spiritual leader and composer of sacred music whose ministry spanned more than six decades. He established the first branch of the movement south of the River Niger in 1960 and contributed significantly to its growth and expansion.
President Bola Tinubu had earlier expressed condolences, recognising Alogbo as the Supreme Head of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide and the Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church.
The church has urged members and the public to continue praying for the bereaved family while giving thanks for the late cleric’s life, ministry and lasting contributions to the Cherubim and Seraphim movement.
