Veteran actor and filmmaker Muyiwa Ademola has shared his pain over missing the burial of his cousin, fellow actress Allwell Ademola, who was laid to rest in Lagos.
In an emotional social media post, Ademola disclosed that he was out of the country at the time of the funeral and could not return in time to witness her final journey.
Allwell Ademola was buried on January 9 at a cemetery in Yaba, Lagos, with several prominent figures from the Yoruba film industry in attendance to pay their last respects.
“It’s a final goodbye, Couz. The hardest part is not being in the country to witness your final journey home,” Ademola wrote, describing her passing as a painful reminder of life’s fragility. He reflected on the inevitability of death, noting that each passing day and birthday brings people closer to their final moments.
He concluded his tribute with heartfelt prayers and traditional Yoruba expressions, asking for longevity and peace for the departed while extending greetings to departed family elders.
Following the post, social media users and colleagues flooded his page with messages of condolence, offering sympathy to the Ademola family as they mourn the loss of their beloved relative.
