Nigerian music legend, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has pushed back against long-held public perceptions about his personal life, insisting he is not a womaniser but simply someone who loves wholeheartedly.

The award-winning artiste made the clarification in an interview with Voice of Nigeria shared on Wednesday, where he reflected candidly on fame, fatherhood and the emotional toll of life in the spotlight.

“The biggest misconception about me is that I’m a womaniser. I like women; I’m just straightforward. But I’m a lover boy. I love hard,” he said.

Struggles With Fatherhood
Beyond addressing public labels, 2Baba spoke emotionally about fatherhood, admitting that balancing his successful music career with raising his eight children has been one of his greatest personal challenges.

“I have eight kids now. I feel blessed and happy, but the sadness comes from the fact that I haven’t gotten to spend the type of time I should have spent with them collectively. It does something to me sometimes,” he revealed.

Despite the regret, the singer described his children as a constant source of pride and joy.

“They’re amazing, brilliant people. I just wish I was there more. It touches me from all corners,” he added.

Defending His Wife
The music star also addressed criticism directed at his wife, Natasha, particularly allegations that she is controlling or overly influential in his decisions.

According to him, such narratives are often exaggerated and detached from reality.

“Everybody has a say in everybody’s business now. Sometimes people say very nasty things. You grow thick skin, but sometimes it gets to you. Reality is reality — she’s a brilliant woman, a strong woman,” he said.

The Shy Side of a Superstar
Contrary to his confident stage persona, 2Baba disclosed that he is naturally shy and reserved, explaining that his profession often forces him to step outside his comfort zone.

“My profession doesn’t permit me to be shy, but I’m actually a very shy person,” he said.

“Sometimes I just want to be alone and chill. Other times I want to hang out. I like nature; I have my moments.”

Through the interview, the iconic singer offered a rare glimpse into the man behind the fame — a father grappling with time, a husband defending his partner, and an artiste seeking understanding beyond public perception.
