Nollywood actress and comedian Princess has strongly criticised fellow actress Biola Adebayo over her recent interview with convicted actor Baba Ijesha, describing it as insensitive and deeply hurtful to the victim’s family.

In an emotional video shared on Instagram, Princess questioned Adebayo’s decision to give Baba Ijesha a platform, especially considering her public stance as a sexual assault survivor.

“You said you have also been a victim of rape. How would you feel if the person who assaulted you came on TV years later to accuse you of lying?” she asked.

Princess, whose foster daughter was the victim in the case, accused Adebayo of prioritising views and online engagement over the well-being of the child and her family.

“Since it’s not your child, it’s okay. Since it’s for views and money, it’s okay,” she said, adding that Adebayo failed to consider the emotional impact of the interview.

She further revealed that she has been subjected to online harassment since the interview aired, with trolls sending insults and threats.

“People have continuously trolled and insulted me. I’ve just been blocking messages,” she said.

Princess also criticised Adebayo for not reaching out to her before publishing the interview, despite having direct access to her.

“You have my number. You could have called me,” she stated, insisting that there was no justification for releasing the video.

In a strongly worded remark, she described Adebayo’s actions as “wicked” and questioned her Christian faith, saying a true believer would not knowingly inflict pain on others, especially a child.

The backlash follows Adebayo’s earlier apology, where she clarified that the interview was intended to give Baba Ijesha an opportunity to apologise or address public concerns, not to exonerate him.

“I would never enable anybody. The interview was not to justify his actions,” Adebayo had said.

Baba Ijesha was convicted in 2022 for sexual assault and indecent treatment of a minor and remains listed on the Lagos Sexual Offenders Register, a fact repeatedly highlighted by critics of the interview.
