Media personality and philanthropist Mitchell Mukoro, popularly known as King Mitchy, has publicly apologised to several individuals following a recent social media controversy involving activist Martins Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan.

Mitchy shared the apology on Instagram on March 11, 2026, where she also released a video documenting the completion of her school renovation project in Delta State.

The video showcased the transformation of the facility, including classrooms, toilets, boreholes and water taps, highlighting the “before, during and after” stages of the project.

The renovation initiative had earlier sparked an online dispute between Mitchy and VeryDarkMan, drawing significant attention across social media.

In a separate video, Mitchy apologised to individuals she believed were affected by the controversy, beginning with Seyi Tinubu, son of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom she described as a consistent supporter of her foundation.

“My boss, ST, I’m so sorry. I know I apologised privately, but I did not disrespect you privately; I disrespected you publicly, so I want to apologise publicly,” she said.

She also apologised to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, after referencing him during the earlier dispute.

“I’m so sorry, sir. I’m so sorry for bringing your name into this. I’m so sorry, daddy,” she said while kneeling in the video.

Addressing VeryDarkMan, Mitchy described him as someone advocating for Nigerians and said she now better understands his activism.

“My brother, I see what you are fighting for. You’re fighting for Nigerians and we can make Nigeria a better place. You need more supporters, not people who will fight you,” she said.

Despite the apology, she insisted that apologising does not necessarily mean she was wrong but rather a move to restore peace and end the online drama.

In another development, Mitchy’s management issued a statement apologising to Prime Care Hospital over a previous claim linking the hospital to her care after a suicide attempt.

The statement clarified that the hospital was not involved and expressed regret for the distress the false information caused the institution.

Since the posts were shared, social media users have reacted with mixed opinions. Some praised Mitchy for taking responsibility and apologising publicly, while others continued to debate the controversy.

Meanwhile, VeryDarkMan has not directly responded to the apology. However, he posted a video from a school construction site showing engineers working on a project he said had begun three days earlier.

In what many interpreted as a subtle response to Mitchy’s earlier claim that her renovation would take six days, he remarked that the project would take longer to complete.
