Armed robbers on Saturday shot and wounded a prominent member of the Anyiam-Osigwe family.
Anyiam-Osigwe was shot between Okada and Benin, both in Edo State.
Sources told The Eagle Online that he was shot in the chest.
Though he was rescued alive from the scene of the robbery operation, Anyiam-Osigwe eventually died in the hospital where he was taken to for treatment.
He died on Sunday evening.
Anyiam-Osigwe was on his way to Imo State when he was attacked.
He was the arrowhead of the family’s business empire.
The prominent family was yet to issue a statement on the development as at press time.
