Nollywood veteran actress Patience Ozokwo, popularly known as Mama G, has publicly endorsed Peter Obi ahead of the 2027 general elections, describing Nigeria as a nation richly endowed yet poorly managed.
Speaking at a gathering organised under the banner “Celebrities for Peter Obi,” Ozokwo expressed deep concern over the country’s direction and urged a change in leadership.
“I see this country as a spoiled child,” she said. “There is nothing God did not provide for us. Other nations of the world, if they have one quarter of what God has given to us, they will be better than what they are today.”
The actress further criticised the uneven distribution of wealth, noting that a small group of Nigerians have accumulated resources sufficient for multiple generations while the majority continue to struggle.
“Some people in this country have laid up for themselves for their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren,” she stated.
Ozokwo also called on fellow celebrities to recognise the power of their public platforms. “Celebrities here, what we have, we have our faces. We have our integrity,” she told the audience, encouraging them to use their influence responsibly in the national conversation.
Her remarks add a prominent entertainment-industry voice to the growing list of public figures signalling support for Obi as the 2027 polls approach.
