The family of Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo has publicly confirmed the cause of his death, revealing that the actor died from complications linked to advanced metastatic kidney cancer.
In a statement shared via Instagram on Wednesday, the family announced that the actor passed away at Evercare Hospital after what they described as a brief but courageous battle with the illness.
According to the statement, Ekubo faced his final days with resilience, faith, and hope despite the severity of his condition. The family noted that he remained optimistic throughout the difficult period and believed his experience would eventually inspire others.
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, son, brother, and friend, Alexx Ikenna Ekubo-Okwaraeke,” the statement read. “After a brief but courageous battle, Alexx passed away at Evercare Hospital due to complications arising from advanced metastatic kidney cancer.”
The family also appealed for privacy as they mourn the actor’s passing, while asking the public to keep them in their prayers. They added that details regarding funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.
