The Chairman of Ogun State Branch of the Road Transport Employees Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) is dead.
According to several reports, the transport Union boss died of unknown illness today.
The deceased has been battling an unknown illness for some years now before he finally gave up the ghost.
It would be recalled that the Ogun State government had, since late last year, banned the activities of the RTEAN in the State.
In the letter with reference number RTEAN/NHQ/ADM/OG/013 and address to the former Chairman, Alhaji Mugisu Akinpelu, copy which were sent to the State government and other relevant security agencies, the Chairman was accused of gross misconduct.
An investigative committee set up to look into the matter found no compensating feature to prevent the expulsion of Akinpelu.
Recently, the Governor of the state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun reinstate him as the state chairman.
