The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has extended royal felicitations to former Ogun State Governor and senator, Gbenga Daniel, on his 70th birthday, describing him as a distinguished son of Oduduwa and a model of visionary leadership.

In a statement from the Royal Court of Ife, the monarch celebrated Daniel’s decades of service, highlighting his diligence, courage, and commitment to societal development. The Ooni commended Daniel for his efforts in capacity building and the upliftment of communities.

The royal tribute recalled Daniel’s installation as Fesojaye of Ife in 1992, a recognition by the House of Oduduwa that preceded his emergence as a prominent political and public figure in Ogun State and across Nigeria.

Highlighting his gubernatorial tenure, the Ooni described Daniel’s administration as transformative, noting his progressive policies, infrastructural development, and people-oriented programs that improved citizens’ welfare.

Beyond politics, the monarch praised Daniel’s contributions as an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and mentor, emphasizing his influence on younger generations and society at large.

“At seventy, he stands as a leader whose wisdom has been refined by experience and whose legacy has been strengthened by years of dedicated public service,” the Ooni said, noting that Daniel commands respect across traditional institutions, political circles, and Nigerian society.

On behalf of the global Oduduwa race, the Ooni prayed for Daniel’s continued strength, good health, and many more years of impactful service to the nation.
