A school renovation project in Delta State has ignited a fierce social media confrontation between philanthropist and content creator King Mitchy and activist VeryDarkMan, spiralling into allegations of political manipulation and threats.

King Mitchy, born Mitchell Mukoro, had shared videos celebrating the six-day renovation of a dilapidated school, presenting the project as proof that meaningful change could be achieved swiftly with genuine commitment.

“I have never seen anyone with integrity explain everyday that he or she has integrity. I did this in six days to show you how easy it is if you truly want to do something,” she wrote in one of her posts.

However, her remarks were widely interpreted as veiled criticism of VeryDarkMan, whose real name is Martins Vincent Otse. She also alleged that someone had been planted at her restaurant to gather information about her.

The comments drew a sharp reaction from the activist, who accused her of acting as a political tool to sanitise the image of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Tagging the President’s son, Seyi Tinubu, VeryDarkMan claimed the renovation initiative was politically motivated, alleging it was part of efforts to compensate for perceived failures in the education sector.

As the exchange intensified, King Mitchy issued a stern warning: “Bro, I promise you this. The day you come for me will be the beginning of your downfall.”

In a subsequent video, VeryDarkMan alleged that both Seyi Tinubu and King Mitchy were threatening his life, further heightening tensions.

“Nigerians, in respect to what is going on now, they are beginning to threaten my life,” he claimed.

Amid the back-and-forth, some social media users questioned the extent of the renovation after clips surfaced showing parts of the school building still appearing partially damaged.

In what observers described as an attempt to clear the air, King Mitchy later shared transaction receipts indicating she spent over N1m on the project.

What began as a goodwill gesture has since evolved into a broader debate about philanthropy, political influence, and social media accountability in Nigeria’s digital space.

As of press time, neither the Presidency nor Seyi Tinubu had issued an official statement on the allegations, while the online exchanges continue to generate intense reactions across platforms.
