Security First: Dauda Lawal Hosts Olufemi Oluyede, Strengthens Fight Against Insecurity in Zamfara

Governor Dauda Lawal on Tuesday received the Chief of Defence Staff, Olufemi Oluyede, at the Government House in Gusau, in a high-level engagement aimed at reinforcing security efforts in Zamfara State.

During the official visit, the Defence Chief commended the state government for its unwavering support to military personnel deployed across the region. He acknowledged the administration’s collaborative stance, noting that such cooperation has been instrumental in ongoing operations against insecurity.

Governor Lawal, in his remarks, reaffirmed that security remains the top priority of his administration. He stressed that without a stable and secure environment, meaningful development and governance would have little impact on citizens’ lives.

The governor emphasized the need for sustained synergy between the state government and the armed forces, describing it as vital to confronting the persistent security challenges affecting communities across Zamfara. According to him, only through coordinated efforts can lasting peace be achieved.

He further assured the Defence Chief of his government’s continued commitment to supporting the military and other security agencies, pledging resources and cooperation to enhance their operational effectiveness and ensure the protection of lives and property in the state.
