Sokoto State Deputy Governor and leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Alhaji Mukhtar Shagari, Sunday said what happened in Sokoto at the governorship primary last week was not an election but a plan by some people to destroy the party in the state.
Addressing thousands of supporters who gave him a rousing welcome shortly after his return from Abuja Sunday, Shagari averred that there was no governorship primary election in the state but assured that he remained unshaken despite his recent setback at the governorship primary.
He added that he was not perturbed by the outcome of events in the PDP in the state.
