Former Beşiktaş midfielder and pundit Sinan Engin has praised Victor Osimhen for a “superhuman” performance in Galatasaray’s 1–0 Champions League Round of 16 first-leg victory over Liverpool.
The Nigerian striker was central to Galatasaray’s attacking play on Tuesday night, relentlessly pressing Liverpool’s defence and delivering the key assist for Mario Lemina’s match-winning goal.
“You have to look at his genetics; he’s more than just a human,” Engin told Habersarikirmizi. “What does this guy eat? He must be eating lions. Osimhen has become a lion himself—even Icardi has been forgotten.”
Engin also applauded manager Okan Buruk for his tactical setup, which he said “suffocated” Liverpool and treated the English giants like a “normal Anatolian team.” He added that the win reasserted Galatasaray’s reputation as a “conqueror of Europe.”
The victory leaves Liverpool with a challenging task in the second leg, while Osimhen’s stock continues to rise on the global stage, proving that elite talent can shine even outside the top five European leagues.
