**Builds New Mansion At Omole Estate

The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Goodluck Jonathan, Dr Reuben Abati is definitely one of the best writers, critics, social commentators and journalists Nigeria has produced.
A first class honours graduate of Theatre Arts from the University of Calabar where he won the Vice Chancellor’s prize in 1985 for the best overall graduating student.

He also achieved the enviable feat of completing his Ph.D at the age of 24, specializing in Dramatic Literature, Theory and Criticism.
Apart from the aforementioned, Abati studied journalism at College of Journalism, University of Maryland, U.S.A and earned an a degree in Law from Lagos State University.
Dr. Reuben Abati who once lectured at the department  of English of Ogun State University (now Olabisi Onabanjo University) before taking up the job as Adviser to President to President Jonathan Goodluck  was the Chairman Editorial Board of the Guardian Newspapers.

But despite these academic and professional excellence, societygist.com can reveal that the 47 year old Ogun born journalist is presently planning his future after Jonathan administration.

SocietyGists learnt from reliable sources that Abati is abandoning journalism career for Law.

Some of the reasons for the career swap is that Abati have deserted some of his contemporaries and acquaintances in the media since he got the appointment to work with the incumbent President, Goodluck Jonathan.

It’s however revealed that most of Goodluck Jonathan reelection campaign advertorials and propaganda works were given to Guardian to enable him keep in touch with the management of the company.

Sources also divulged to this medium that Abati is also doing this so as to be in good book of the management of the Newspaper, just in case his career in Law doesn’t succeed as pre-planned and he can have something to fall back to.

SocietyGists investigations also revealed that Abati’s eldest daughter who graduated from a UK university will be joining his father and other professionals in his newly acquired chamber.

We also learnt that Omolara (Abati’s second wife) bore a child (a boy) for Abati in August 2011.

They did the naming ceremony secretly in Abuja with close family members. The couple presently lives in Abuja together while the wife (Iyabo) who suffered with him when he was still struggling to find his feet has been relegated to take care of their home with four children back in Lagos.

Abati’s Lagos home which is located at Arepo, we gathered will be bulldozed and refurbished.

Our sources further revealed that Abati is building an eye popping edifice in Omole Estate where he is planning to retire with his family after Jonathan administration.
