City Boy Movement Targets Over One Million Votes for Tinubu in Ondo, Inaugurates New Executives
The City Boy Movement in Ondo State has pledged to mobilise more than one million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, insisting that continuity of the current administration will attract further development projects to the state.
State Director of the Movement, Mr Oluwafemi Ayejusunle, made the declaration on Thursday during the inauguration of newly elected state executive officers in Akure, the state capital.
Ayejusunle said the group would intensify support for Tinubu and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates ahead of the general elections. He disclosed plans to build a robust grassroots structure across Ondo’s 18 local government areas, wards and polling units to highlight the achievements of the Tinubu administration.
According to him, Ondo has already benefited from several federal interventions, including the dualisation of the Ore-Ondo-Akure Road, the Akure-Ado Ekiti Road, other federal road projects and the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway. He also listed the approval of a Federal Teaching Hospital for the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), a proposed Aviation College, and student loans under the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).
Ayejusunle further pointed to the proposed Ondo Deep Sea Port and industrial park, ongoing road projects, intervention in the Ayetoro coastal erosion crisis, youth empowerment programmes, improved electricity supply and affordable housing as key priorities the movement would promote.
He recalled that Ondo State delivered the highest number of votes for Tinubu among the South-West states in the 2023 presidential election and said the group aims to surpass that performance in 2027.
Addressing the newly inaugurated executives, Ayejusunle urged them to prioritise discipline, integrity and results. “Reach the youth, women, markets, campuses and communities. Talk less. Work more. Deliver votes,” he charged.
He outlined the movement’s immediate focus as strengthening structures across the 18 local government areas, mobilising voters and explaining the Renewed Hope Agenda to residents. “Our mission is clear: to mobilise, organise and deliver support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027,” he added.
Also speaking at the event, the South-West Youth Leader of the APC, Daramola Adesuyi, praised the Ondo chapter of the City Boy Movement for its organisational strength and mobilisation efforts. He noted that the inauguration signalled serious preparations for the 2027 polls and commended the involvement of youths, professionals and grassroots members in the process.
