President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Adesayo Michael as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA).
The President also approved the appointment of nine members to the agency’s board, including Aliyu Abdulazeez as Executive Director, Technical, and Ikechi Nwosu as Chairman, representing the South-East.
The appointments were disclosed on Tuesday in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, titled “President Tinubu appoints CEO and board members of NEMSA; Magaji Da’u Aliyu as MD of SHESTCO.”
Other members appointed to the NEMSA board include Zubair Abdur’rauf Idris; Igba Elizabeth (North-Central); Sani Alhaji Shehu (North-East); Adeyemi Adetunji (South-West); Engr. Emmanuel Eneji Nkpe (South-South); and Engr. Charles Ogbonna Asogwa (South-East).
NEMSA is the regulatory agency responsible for the standardisation, testing and certification of electrical materials and equipment in Nigeria.
In a related development, President Tinubu also appointed Magaji Da’u Aliyu as the Managing Director of the Sheda Science and Technology Complex (SHESTCO), Abuja.
SHESTCO is mandated to carry out research and development in science and technology and operates a nuclear research facility.
Additionally, the President nominated Amina Gamawa, representing Bauchi State, and Abdullahi Muktar, representing Kaduna State, as Commissioners of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
“The President has sent the two nominees to the Senate for confirmation,” the statement said.
