President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, on the occasion of his birthday, commending his leadership and efforts toward stabilising the state.
In a statement issued on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President praised the governor for what he described as responsible governance aimed at restoring Plateau’s long-standing reputation as the “Home of Peace and Tourism.”
Tinubu acknowledged Mutfwang’s interventions in key sectors, including security, rural infrastructure, healthcare and education, noting that the administration’s policies are helping to strengthen development and stability in the state.
The President also highlighted the governor’s economic initiatives, particularly the establishment of agro-logistics hubs designed to boost agricultural production, improve supply chains and stimulate local economic activities.
According to the statement, Mutfwang’s leadership style has promoted inclusiveness and strengthened peaceful coexistence among the diverse communities in the state.
Tinubu further commended the governor for inaugurating a 14-member State Advisory Committee on state policing, describing the move as a proactive step toward improving security at the sub-national level.
The President had earlier encouraged state governments across Nigeria to begin processes that would lead to the establishment of state police as part of broader reforms to strengthen the country’s internal security framework.
He described the Plateau governor’s initiative as strategic and forward-looking, noting that it aligns with the federal government’s ongoing efforts to enhance national security.
Tinubu also expressed confidence that Mutfwang’s policies and initiatives would continue to promote peace and sustainable development in the state.
“As the governor celebrates this special occasion, the President wishes him good health and strength as he continues his good work in the state,” the statement added.
