The Arsenal manager says “the story is dead” after the Real Madrid striker pledged his future to the club via Twitter earlier on Monday afternoon
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says the Karim Benzema story is “dead” after the Real Madrid striker committed his future to the Spanish giants.
The Gunners had been willing to wait right up until the end of the transfer window to see if there was any chance of signing the France international, but he made it clear on Monday afternoon that he plans to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu.

And Wenger says players under contract are always extremely difficult to recruit: “That story is dead. That story has always been created every week. When a player has a contract y the club that decides.
“Real Madrid have said many times they don’t want to sell him. It’s the same for us when we have a player under contract.”
