Actor Yul Edochie has dismissed viral reports claiming that his father, veteran Nollywood icon Pete Edochie, has passed away, describing the information as false and misleading.

In an Instagram post on Thursday, Yul shared a photograph of the revered actor and reassured fans that the screen legend is alive and in good health.

Referring to his father as “The Lion of Africa” and “my man for life,” Yul expressed confidence that Pete Edochie would live beyond 100 years.

“To the public, disregard any false news saying Chief Pete Edochie passed away. The Lion of Africa is fully alive, hale and hearty,” he wrote.

Yul’s elder brother, Leo Edochie, also addressed the rumours, affirming that their father remains strong and in good spirits.

The statements come amid the circulation of unverified claims on social media about the veteran actor’s death.

Pete Edochie, widely regarded as one of Nollywood’s most respected figures, has enjoyed a decades-long career and remains a celebrated cultural icon in Nigeria and beyond.
