…….The lawmaker names three APC chieftains, seeks investigation and protection for supporters across Remo.

A member of the House of Representatives, Hon. (Princess) Dr. Adesola Ayoola Elegbeji, has petitioned security agencies and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State over alleged harassment, intimidation and threats against her political supporters across Remoland.

Elegbeji, who represents Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency, made the allegations in a petition dated October 31, 2026, addressed to the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, the Director of the Department of State Services (DSS) in the state and the APC state chairman.

The Akarigbo of Remoland was also listed as a recipient for information.

In the petition, the lawmaker said some of her supporters and political associates had reported incidents in which they were allegedly confronted, threatened and warned to stop supporting her political activities.

She named Hon. Funmilayo Efuwape, Hon. Yemi Adelani, identified as the APC organising secretary, and Hon. Taofeek Sokoya, popularly known as Danku, as persons allegedly involved in the reported incidents.

However, Elegbeji stressed that she was not pronouncing any of the individuals guilty, noting that the allegations required proper investigation.

She urged security agencies to investigate the reports impartially and ensure the protection of lives and property of political actors across Remoland.

The federal lawmaker also called on the APC leadership to convene a meeting of political stakeholders to promote peace, tolerance and understanding, particularly as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections gather momentum.

She further requested that the individuals mentioned in the petition be invited to present their accounts of the incidents and cautioned to maintain peace if found culpable.

Emphasising the importance of political freedom, Elegbeji said citizens should be able to associate with and support aspirants of their choice without fear of intimidation.

She warned against allowing intimidation to replace persuasion in Remo politics, which she described as traditionally characterised by peace, maturity and brotherhood.

The lawmaker also appealed to her supporters across Ikenne, Sagamu and Remo North to remain law-abiding and refrain from taking the law into their own hands.

Elegbeji expressed confidence in the capacity of the security agencies, the APC leadership and the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun to ensure justice, fairness and peaceful political engagement in the state.
