The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Southwest Zone, has thrown its weight behind the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO.

The endorsement was announced on Monday by the NANS Southwest Coordinator, Comrade Taiwo Owolewa, who said the association’s decision followed Oyebamiji’s consistent track record in youth empowerment, education advocacy, and sustained engagement with students across the region.

Describing the APC flagbearer as a tested and accessible leader, Owolewa noted that Oyebamiji’s public service record and inclusive leadership style distinguish him as a candidate who understands governance from the people’s perspective.

“AMBO has demonstrated capacity, accessibility, and commitment to inclusive leadership. His impeccable antecedents and outstanding records in public service, coupled with his long-standing relationship with students and young people across Osun State and the Southwest, clearly reflect a leader who prioritises the people,” he said.

Owolewa added that NANS had passed a vote of confidence in Oyebamiji, expressing optimism that his administration would deepen youth participation in governance, strengthen the education sector, and drive people-centred development.

He further disclosed that the student body had mobilised about 20 million students for voter registration in Osun State, assuring that registered student voters would rally behind the APC candidate in the forthcoming election.

The NANS leader also praised the administration of President Bola Tinubu for rolling out student-focused initiatives, including the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PiCNG), and the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme, which he said have expanded opportunities in technical, vocational, digital, and entrepreneurial development across the country.
